Detroit NABJ Membership
The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is an organization of nearly 4,000 journalists, students and media-related professionals, that advocates for diversity in newsrooms and in news content. We are committed to providing quality programs and services for black journalists worldwide. The Detroit chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists is the local affiliate of NABJ and upholds the same principles.

Membership Types
- Full membership $40: open to full-time working journalists, including reporters, editors, photographers, newsroom managers, digital and other content creators who produce, gather, and disseminate news for newspaper, television, radio stations, magazines, digital platforms, wire services and full‐time freelance journalists.
- Associate membership $20: open to part‐time freelance journalists, journalism educators, and other media related professionals.
- Student membership $10: open to all students enrolled in a high school, college or university journalism or communications curriculum.
